Raman Magsaysay Award – 2025

The Indian Non-Governmental Organization “Educate Girls” is set to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award at the 67th awarding ceremony on November 7, 2025. The event will be held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila, Philippines.

Educate Girls is the first Indian organization to be honoured with this award.

Educate Girls :

• Founded in 2007 in Rajasthan by Safina Husain.

• In 2015, Educate Girls launched the world’s first Development Impact Bond (DIB) in the education sector.
• It runs a program called Pragati, which enables young women aged 15 to 29 to complete their education through open schooling.

• The organization’s mission is
• To combat cultural stereotypes and educate out-of-school girls in remote villages.
• To help young women gain the skills needed for higher education and meaningful employment.

Ramon Magsaysay Award

• Started in 1958
• This is given by the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation
• The award is widely regarded as Asia’s Nobel Prize.
